A Jazzercise customer in Kentucky has been interviewed and is part of the fitness show on OPRAH this Friday, February 10th. (She was just notified over this weekend!!!)
The show topic features Bob Greene (Oprah's fitness guru) and our customer sent a letter to the Oprah show regarding having lost a LOT of weight at Jazzercise, but having a hard time with "those last 10 pounds". They have already videotaped her at home, at work and in Jazzercise class. Be sure to check it out on Friday, February 10th.

SPECIAL VISITOR!!!!
The Vestavia Hills, Thursday evening class was visited by "Jim the Truck Driver" It was a neat treat to have Jim with us. Jim is a loyal Jazzerciser. He attends classes whenever he can, no matter where his job has taken him. Last count he has attended over 500 classes in 48 of the United States and 3 Canandian areas as well. It was an honor and privilege to be chosen as a location Jim wanted to attend. Thanks for coming to class Jim. Also, thanks for letting me autograph you shirt. How neat to be included on a Tee Shirt with so many other locations. Come back to visit us again soon. (Note: I was disappointed I did not have my camera to capture this moment...Jim, feel free to email me a picture and I will include it in the photo gallery...thanks)
Visit from YOUNG McCARTHY
What a fabulous week with visiting Instructor Young McCarthy. Young is the Programs and Training Manager from the Jazzercise Corporate offices in California. We were excited to have her in Alabama to mentor and monitor Jazzercise Instructors. We shared many classes with her through the week. Before heading home, Young taught a Saturday morning class at Homewood Recreation Center. All Birmingham locations came to Homewood to join us. We had a full house. The class was high energy and full of excitement. Thanks again Young!!!(pictures in the photo gallery)
Also, during this week we had Emma Mattei, District Manager, join us. Emma also visited many locations, including the UAB/Cord classes taught to the 8th grade girls at Washington Elementary School (Pictures of the students on the photo gallery) We had a very informative meeting with her on Friday night and she also joined us for the fabulous workout with Young.
We look forward to having both Young and Emma visit Alabama again.
Testimonials
Hey Guys,
If you have a story about what Jazzercise means to you, how it plays a part in your life, or maybe how it has helped in aspects of your life....please take a moment to write down your thoughts. I would love for you to submit them to me and allow me to include them on this website. I have a special section just for these types of articles.
All you have to do is click on the "ask a question" section, put in your email address and then in the box labled "your question" enter your testimonial. It will be sent to me and I will be able to add it to the website under the testimonial section. Thanks a ton. Keep Jazzercising.
FIRST ANNUAL BEACH TRIP
The pictures are finally here...well some of them. I have so many that I took, as well as those that others have given me. I dont want to leave any off...so hang in there, I am adding them all slowly but surely. If you dont see a specific photo, it might be because it was too large for the site or some other type of technical reason I dont understand. I also hope to have captions under them all, but it takes some time. The beach photos are listed first in the photo gallery and take up all but the last 3 or 4 pages. Enjoy! (and if you did not get to go this year, check out the fun...we are gonna do it again next year)
The First Annual Beach Trip was a fabulous success. We had a total of 32 people in attendance and I think I speak for us all when I say "We had a great time" Many people went down on Thursday and enjoyed themselves before the big events started and on a personal note, I think that is what I will do next year.
The Raddison was a great place to host the event. They were very accommodating. We were located on the gorgeous Ft. Walton Beach. The hotel had several restaurants to choose from as well as a nice snack bar/bar located at the pool. Thanks to the nice weather we spent plenty of time outside at the beach or pool. I think some of us spent hours and hours in the "
Lazy River" It was tons of fun.
Friday night we all dined at the Lucky Snapper. The crab cakes were very tasty.
Saturday morning we started out early with a nice breakfast together and then topped it off with an outdoor Jazzercise class. We were located on the tennis courts. How nice it was to work out, with a constant breeze. I would move to the beach permanently, but the commute back to Birmingham for my classes would kill me...hehehe.
After class everybody spent the day doing what they liked best, swimming, laying out, snacking, riding in the lazy river, walking on the beach or shopping. We all met for dinner that evening at The Crab Trap..yum yum...followed by an evening at The Howl at the Moon Dueling Piano Bar. I had never been to one of these, but it was so much fun. It was like a comedy routine that the audience got to participate in. Several of our ladies can really dance...
To finish out the weekend, we had another breakfast together on Sunday morning followed by another Jazzercise class. This one was a little hotter. There was more sun on Sunday than on Saturday morning, but we still had fun. Thank you to the instructors that participated and lead some routines with me. (Donna Bailer, Angela Fotinos, Michelle Urban and Denise Wiginton)
I just have to sum this up with "How long until we get to go again?"
